Today was
Kalli's birthday.
Kalli is a
great kid,
seriously
this kid is enjoyable all of the time. She is extremely
quick witted, smart, talks with a
super gruff voice and just makes people
smile. She is a
great sister, daughter and a
friend to EVERYONE, when she was little we couldn't take her anywhere that she did not come away with
two new friends (the store, mcdonalds, the park).
Kalli loves
science and math. She is
extremely creative and is always making
"contraptions". What you see with Kalli
is what you get, there is nothing false with her, she tells it like she sees it.
When
Kalli was born whe was born on the
first day of summer. Well
Chad wanted to name her
Summer. My mom told us that we should not name her Summer because
all Summers needed to be
blonde hair and
blue eyed girls. And with Chad and I being
brown hair and
brown eyes there wouldn't be a very good chance of having a
blue eyed
blondie. Well guess what, out of our six kiddos,
Kalli is our
ONLY Blonde Hair, Blue Eyed child. So needless to say my mother will never hear the end of it!
In Pleasant Grove we have what is called
Strawberry days. It's a week long festival with
carnivals, art shows, concerts in the park, free swim days, rodeos etc. Well today it ended with a
parade. 
Kalli was so
excited she could not believe how
lucky she was that they threw a
parade for her birthday. So after the parade we had a
BBQ with cousins, she got to
play on the neighbor's
slip n slide and then ended the day at the
swimming pool.
It was a great way to end
Strawberry Days and celebrate a
very special girls birthday.

Today was Sydney's birthday. She has had this obsession with horses for as long as I can remember. I thought maybe she would outgrow it, but apparently it is embedded in her roots (she must get that from the Kerby side).
All she ever wants to do is ride horses.
Well today she was able to have the BEST birthday party ever, her little dreams definately came true tonight. 
Our great friends, the Richardsons have horse property with about seven horses, they also have, chickens and cows. They allowed us to bring Sydney and four of her friends 
(CeCe, Olivia, Alaina and Logan) to ride their horses. It was awesome!!! We first had the kids come to our house for presents and chocolate cupcakes and then we drove them to Lehi for a little horse back riding. Well little it wasn't, the kids got to ride horses for 2 hours. They had a ball. Angie, Bob and Maddie were so kind to the children, they ran with them and let the kids think that they were riding the horses "all by myself!" It was so cool. When it was time to put the horses away Angie again was so kind and brought out a large tray of Pink Cupcakes. So we had a contest to see who could eat the most...not only did the kids come home on a sugar high but it was a little later than what was planned, but the parents didn't seem to mind! (except for our babysitters, SORRY!) 
It was such a fun evening and Sydney had a dream birthday party. Thanks again Richardson Family, we really think you guys are greatest!!! Happy Birthday Sydney!!!
Because he is so busy and quite a big kid, when he sleeps he sleeps long and hard. He is having a hard time giving up his two 3-hour naps a day. When he only gets one nap he is in bed by 6:00 pm.
