Tis the Season

Merry Christmas!! This last month has been filled with all of the fun and craziness that comes with this season. Sydney had her GLOW play at school which she was the Sparrow and did a great job. Kalli had her Ballroom performance and did awesome. We had school parties and friend parties. I have been running around like crazy trying to finish Christmas and getting ready for a new baby. I kept thinking maybe this time I would go on my own into labor so I wanted to make sure everything was done early so Chad wouldn't have too much stress. Well today is the 27th and I am going in tomorrow the 28th to have this baby. Christmas came and went without any baby coming. We had a great Christmas, the kids were so fun and so appreciative of everything! I am grateful for all of the blessings that accompany this season. I am really excited to see what 2010 will bring. Happy Happy Holidays!

2009 the year for Ups and Downs

Happy New Year 2009

As I reflect on this past year, I don't believe that I have had a year filled with more ups and downs. The ups were way up there and the downs were pretty down. I have so much to be grateful for. We started off this year with Tyler getting baptized, that was an up.Then shortly after, Chad and I left for Guatemala to go on our service expedition and even though he broke his leg, that experience was definitely an up!In June our family was able to go to Disneyland and stay at the Grand California Disney Hotel...That was totally an up. Shortly after returning home we learned that Chad's company was being extinguished. That was a down. During all of these ups and downs my dad's health began to diminish which was definitely a downer. Though I do have some ups associated with those downs. I consider myself extremely blessed to have so many experiences with my dad, driving to and from doctor appointments at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. One time I remember reading jokes about each state out of the Reader's Digest to him and making him laugh while waiting for the doctor. Those are totally ups!!!Then I got sick. Spending a week in the hospital due to pregnancy and Asthma was a down but there was an up associated with it as well. Because Chad was out of work he was able to be home with the kids and plan two birthday parties. Though our finances were getting a little scary with no employment we knew something great would be on the horizon.Chad and I were able to take a quick trip to North Carolina (thanks to Karen for providing me Delta sky miles) at the beginning of July for a speaking engagement Chad had. This was an up that came just at the right time for me.

Then at the end of July my dad lost his battle with Cancer and passed away...A big down! This was hard and still is, especially with the holidays. Even with my dad being gone we feel his presence in our lives daily. We believe he helped us with our decision for Chad to join the company he is now with and this is a big up...Truly a blessing.
I was ready for Fall to come and was done with summer. Luckily since the seasons have changed we haven't had many downs. We have enjoyed our family and are so looking forward to our baby boy due the end of this month...definitely a major up. Here is to looking up for the rest of 2009!

Friends Forever

Recently I took a quick trip down to AZ to help my mom out. While I was there I had the chance to meet up with one of my very best friends from High School, Stephanie Skinner. We haven't seen each other in years. Stephanie, Steph's husband Scott, Steph's sister Nikki and their mom Kayola all met me at our favorite high school hang out Ned's Krazy Sub. (and their three little cuties Carson, Seth and Teagan) I love this family.
We have a history that goes way back and tons of laughs to prove it!!! It's nice when you can meet up with old friends and it's as if no time has past. Nikki and I are both 8 months pregnant (obviously) and due just one day apart.

It was so much fun and Ned's Krazy Sub...You never dissappoint...YUM!!!

Funny Max

The other day Max came walking into our house with this kitten. He said "Kitty comes to Max's house...I love Kitty". Well it was cute and all but we don't "love Kitty". We didn't even know where "Kitty" came from. He carried this kitten everywhere. We located it's home (luckily for the Kitty's sake) and Kitty went "bye bye".

Max has two cute little friends, Ryley and Kate. He loves to chase these little girls around and scream like a dinosaur at them (he is ALL boy). The other day Kate's mom Crystal was busy trying to rake up all of the leaves in the yard, she had a ton of piles. Well these three little stinkers saw them and that was it!
They ran, jumped and threw the leaves everywhere .

It was so much fun to watch them and hear the pure joy in their giggles!

Fall Fun!!!

Saturday Chad and the kids were raking the leaves in our front yard, well I think the raking part was short lived. The kids had a ball jumping in the pile. I love this time of year!!!

Halloween!
Max was a dang cute fire man.
Sydney was a Cheetah...Not a Kitty! (that is what she told everyone) then we had two handsome football players, one for the vikings and they other a BYU all star!
Here is the whole gang. Raegan was a witch (she was looking pretty witchy in this picture) Kalli was a punk with her friend MaKenna.
I love Halloween and this time of year.

October Fun

Tomorrow the forecast is for snow. I am not ready for snow. So today I took Andrew and his two buddies to the park for one last "Hurrah" in the beautiful weather before that dreaded snow hits.
It was a beautiful day!!!

What a Gorgeous Day!!
Then as the sun was setting this evening it was time to go to Grandma's and carve those gigantic pumpkins from her garden.
Grandma and her ginormous Pumpkin!
It took us forever to get the tops off, they were so thick. We figured that these pumpkins weighted somewhere around 80 pounds.

Sydney brought her own pumpkin to carve and was very mad that her "scary kitty cat" pumpkin wasn't very scary.
The final products. No we are not super creative or very good with a carving knife but the kids had fun and everyone got to help out.
Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Happy Birthday Mom!

Raegan and Grandma

Today is my mom's birthday. She has been through so much in the past year. She took such great care of my dad in his short year of cancer. She was such a pillar of strength to me and my sisters, seeing her so unselfishly give so much time and attention to the love of her life. She has been a great example of charity, love and faith. She NEVER gave up! She lost my dad just three short months ago. She continues to endure everyday without him and she is strong. I want her to know how much she holds our family together and how much we all truly love her. She is about to have her 20th grandchild and she is a wonderful grandma to all of her grand kids.
Thank you mom and Happy Birthday!!!
