January 1st I got the opportunity to go to HAWAII!! YES HAWAII!! Chad had traveled a lot the past year and so we had miles saved up. So when my friend Lisa asked me if I wasnted to got to Hawaii with her to drop off her daughter at BYU I had Chad's full support and I went. We did it so cheap, it was awesome. What was even better was getting to connect with a best friend of mine from highschool, who I hadn't seen in 15 years!!! Talena heard that we were looking for one more person to join our trip and she contacted me and WAHLA!! Hawaii for a week. Me, Lisa, Laura and Talena set off for our all girl adventure.
Laura, Me, Lisa
Talena, Me, Lisa
We stopped by the Dole plantation and Talena and I shared a "Dole Whip", YUM!
We went to Waimaia Falls. It was raining and believe it or not it was pretty cold. Lisa and I were the only Brave ones to swim to the Waterfall. It was awesome!!!
Did I mention that it rained? It rained and rained and rained!! It probably rained 90% of our trip. But who cares we were in HAWAII!!
We stopped at a favorite Shave Ice place called Matsumotos. It was YUMMY!!
We went on a fantastic Hike that over looked the ocean. It was awesome, so fun and felt great to get some exercise. Since winter has come to Utah, the exercise has kind of been non existant.
We met a fabulous lady named Auntie Fia. Who got us into the PCC for cheap as well as helped Lisa's daughter Callie feel a little more comfortable with BYU.
We tried so many times to make it to the beach. As soon as we would set up our stuff the rain would come. But who cares we were in HAWAII!
Monday night we went to a BYUH Basketball game. We had a blast cheering them on. (We didn't stand out or anything, 4 white women amongst all of the Ethnic young students).
Then it was time to say our goodbye's to Callie. She was nervous, scared and anxious. We decorated her room for her before we left.
Talena and I were lucky enough to get to sit by each other on the plane ride home. It was so fun catching up on the last 15 years. So grateful for a good husband who made this all possible and took care of things at home while I was away.
