Sydney has recently started horseback riding lessons. Syd has ALWAYS loved horses. I mean to the point that half of her seven years of life she has spent being a horse. I thought she would out grow it but apparently she didn't so we decided to embrace it and sign her up. This was the best thing we could have done. She grins ear to ear the moment she walks into the arena. And it is so fun for her to have her "own thing" that no one else gets to do in our family. Her instructor asked me if she has taken lessons or ridden much before because she is a "Natural"! It must be the Kerby blood running through her veins. The extended Kerby family is involved in roping and rodeos, so she must come along those blood lines.Friday, January 15, 2010

Andrew adores his baby brother. He is often found laying next to Nicholas, talking to him or sometimes just staring at him. I love the sweet little bond that is already taking place.
Now this kid is a mess! He adores his baby brother but feels he needs to take his anger about being "replaced" as the baby of the family out on mom or dad. He is so stinking ornery right now. Mom and Dad are having to be quite patient. I am loving bed time and nap time!!!
Tyler is thinking that it is pretty great having this new little guy around. He finds him pretty dang cute! Tyler especially likes that Nicholas doesn't take up too much of his Dad's time. Tyler thinks Chad is his "personal dad" and likes to spend as much time with dad as possible but is willing to share him on occasion.

Smile for the camera

Our neighbor is a photographer, as a gift to us she offered to take some 5 day old pictures of our little Nicholas. I think she was able to capture some really cute pictures of our little guy. Oh they grow up so fast, I love this sweet little newborn stage, I wish it could last just a little longer.

Tis the Season
Merry Christmas!! This last month has been filled with all of the fun and craziness that comes with this season. Sydney had her GLOW play at school which she was the Sparrow and did a great job. Kalli had her Ballroom performance and did awesome. We had school parties and friend parties. I have been running around like crazy trying to finish Christmas and getting ready for a new baby. I kept thinking maybe this time I would go on my own into labor so I wanted to make sure everything was done early so Chad wouldn't have too much stress. Well today is the 27th and I am going in tomorrow the 28th to have this baby. Christmas came and went without any baby coming. We had a great Christmas, the kids were so fun and so appreciative of everything! I am grateful for all of the blessings that accompany this season. I am really excited to see what 2010 will bring. Happy Happy Holidays!

2009 the year for Ups and Downs
As I reflect on this past year, I don't believe that I have had a year filled with more ups and downs. The ups were way up there and the downs were pretty down. I have so much to be grateful for. We started off this year with Tyler getting baptized, that was an up.
Then shortly after, Chad and I left for Guatemala to go on our service expedition and even though he broke his leg, that experience was definitely an up!
In June our family was able to go to Disneyland and stay at the Grand California Disney Hotel...That was totally an up. Shortly after returning home we learned that Chad's company was being extinguished. That was a down. During all of these ups and downs my dad's health began to diminish which was definitely a downer. Though I do have some ups associated with those downs. I consider myself extremely blessed to have so many experiences with my dad, driving to and from doctor appointments at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. One time I remember reading jokes about each state out of the Reader's Digest to him and making him laugh while waiting for the doctor. Those are totally ups!!!
Then I got sick. Spending a week in the hospital due to pregnancy and Asthma was a down but there was an up associated with it as well. Because Chad was out of work he was able to be home with the kids and plan two birthday parties. Though our finances were getting a little scary with no employment we knew something great would be on the horizon.
Chad and I were able to take a quick trip to North Carolina (thanks to Karen for providing me Delta sky miles) at the beginning of July for a speaking engagement Chad had. This was an up that came just at the right time for me.

Then at the end of July my dad lost his battle with Cancer and passed away...A big down! This was hard and still is, especially with the holidays. Even with my dad being gone we feel his presence in our lives daily. We believe he helped us with our decision for Chad to join the company he is now with and this is a big up...Truly a blessing.
I was ready for Fall to come and was done with summer. Luckily since the seasons have changed we haven't had many downs. We have enjoyed our family and are so looking forward to our baby boy due the end of this month...definitely a major up. Here is to looking up for the rest of 2009!

Friends Forever
Recently I took a quick trip down to AZ to help my mom out. While I was there I had the chance to meet up with one of my very best friends from High School, Stephanie Skinner. We haven't seen each other in years. Stephanie, Steph's husband Scott, Steph's sister Nikki and their mom Kayola all met me at our favorite high school hang out Ned's Krazy Sub. (and their three little cuties Carson, Seth and Teagan) I love this family.
We have a history that goes way back and tons of laughs to prove it!!! It's nice when you can meet up with old friends and it's as if no time has past. Nikki and I are both 8 months pregnant (obviously) and due just one day apart.

It was so much fun and Ned's Krazy Sub...You never dissappoint...YUM!!!
Funny Max
The other day Max came walking into our house with this kitten. He said "Kitty comes to Max's house...I love Kitty". Well it was cute and all but we don't "love Kitty". We didn't even know where "Kitty" came from. He carried this kitten everywhere. We located it's home (luckily for the Kitty's sake) and Kitty went "bye bye".
They ran, jumped and threw the leaves everywhere .
It was so much fun to watch them and hear the pure joy in their giggles!

Fall Fun!!!
Saturday Chad and the kids were raking the leaves in our front yard, well I think the raking part was short lived. The kids had a ball jumping in the pile. I love this time of year!!!
