MEMORIES

I got this from a friend's blog. I thought this would be fun. I hope you will play along.

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together (or my husband). It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Remember that one time you told me to post a memory on your blog? That was awesome.

Kerby, remember the time we drove to Provo with Herrerra, Slider and Pezold to see the BYU-Hawaii game, and we were driving my parents' Suburban through the streets where all the BYU housing is and you guys were riding in the back with the back door down and you...

First week of college at Ricks and Cassie dislocates her knee and hobbles around for the next semester. The greatest part was watching her sit down and get up off of the couch. Is this suppose to be a funny memory for you or me? Miss you and all of our fun memories as roomates.

I remember being your VT and having the best time coming to your house. I also remember how sad I was when they switched me. I also remember thinking how talented and wonderful you are.

Driving your little truck, I can't remember what you called it, was it little poop?? And our great singing skills, you sing low and I'll sing high. I still sound awesome.

I was the 1st Counselor in the Y.W. presidency in Spokane WA. It was a busy week and I was suppose to help with rides for the youth to the Cheney Stake center for a tri-stake youth conference. I was hoping that this would be a good experience for "my" girls. Most of them came from single parent homes with a high percent of them being less active. The gym and chapel were full of youth buzzing with excitment. As the conference started I looked over the program reading the short bios. of the speakers. One speaker looked just a little nerdy but seemed interesting enough. As it came time for him to speak I was taken back a bit by the spirit that he brought with his stories and words. As the young women laughed and listened intently I thought to myself how glad I was that I took the time out of my busy schedule to come to this conference. His talk went on and he started telling a story about his wife Cassie and his kids at the beach. I thought Cassie, I know a Cassie but it couldn't be the same Cassie. Then I looked at his last name again... Kerby! Oh my gosh, of course Cassie Kerby. I remembered getting their wedding invitation and Kerby being such a good last name for my old roomate Cassie. I was so excited to make this discovery, it was an interesting way to "meet" Cassie's (not so nerdy anymore) husband Chad.

This is the story I wanted to tell you Cassie, it is long but fitting for your memories game here on your blog.

Cassie has asked me to change my picture on the Best of EFY pamphlet for years. You have just given me the needed incentive to do IT!

This is Julie Shumway. I remember Chad from Horizon ward a million years ago it seems. Kristi accidentally stumbled on your blog through someone else's blog...etc. Great to hear you guys are doing well! One of my funnest memories of Chad was playing roller hockey with some friends from the ward...a not so fun memory was you almost cracking your head on the tennis court while playing hockey! You guys have a beautiful family!

California! Need I say more? Ok I will. Dr. Phill (not impressed), waiting in a long line in the heat of the afternoon and watching the interesting people around us, and American Idol! What fun memories! Thanks for letting me tag along!

I remember being at your parents house with Justin and hearing the two of you tell how you got to know Chad and how you came to be engaged. Such twitterpation I never did see.

Mostly I remember rainbows and yellow butterflies though. If you threw out those posters, I may never be able to forgive you.

oh man! when i moved into your ward i remember thinking that there couldn't be a better group of open, accepting people anywhere! you were so nice to me and let me- the new kid- tag along.
i remember jumping on your tramp one night. we were 'popping' each other and somehow my knee popped up to my jaw and dislocated it. (?!?) i was on my back- like a complete idiot- looking up at all of you stare at me. (it must have been hilarious. how did you not laugh?!)
then there was your shingles, that really cool telephone chair in your hall, those yummy christmas tree taffies, and EFY.
thanks for the memories!!
ps-
you totally know that you are still one of my dad's "star students", right? :>

One of my memories of you is getting sent outside to play with you in the back yard. We would be out there maybe 5-10 minutes and I would sniff the air and tell you that, "I think Mom is making popcorn!" and convince you we needed to go back inside to check and see. By the time you realized she wasn't you either had lost interest in playing outside or I managed to hide from Mom.

Awful I know. I see Andrea's kids doing similar things so it's gotta just be in the blood.

Love you dolly. You're a great memory to have!
